«La grande Eulalia» is Paola Capriolo's collection of short stories, published by Feltrinelli Traveller in paperback (128 pages, in Italian).
The volume brings together four stories: «La grande Eulalia», «La donna di pietra», «Il gigante» and «Lettera a Luisa». Capriolo creates sombre and mysterious atmospheres, with characters between fable and reality and an elegant prose that makes the unsettling believable.
The book belongs to the Universale Economica Feltrinelli collection (no. 1116). It won the Giuseppe Berto Prize 1988. The story «Il gigante» was made into the film L'ombra del gigante (2000).
