«Fuente de la Edad» is the novel by Luis Mateo Díez, published by Plaza & Janés in paperback (368 pages, in Spanish).
In the 1950s, in a provincial city, a brotherhood given to the alcoholic and the esoteric seeks a mythical fountain of virtuous waters. That adventure opens an escape route from the narrow world around it and poses the struggle between reality and imagination, between innocent nonsense and a society without imagination.
It won the Premio de la Crítica de Narrativa Castellana (1986) and the Premio Nacional de Narrativa (1987).
Work of interest to readers of contemporary Spanish fiction and literary fiction.
