«La força de la gravetat» is the short story collection by Francesc Serés, published by Quaderns Crema in paperback (256 pages, in Catalan).
Seventeen stories in the manner of fables whose protagonist is the country, from the coast to the inland plains, from the Delta to the Pyrenees through Terra Alta, and from the industrial colonies to Olympic Barcelona. Lightning hunters, workers, arsonists and healers without biography take realism to the edge of the unreal.
The book belongs to the Biblioteca Mínima collection of Quaderns Crema (no. 156) and won the Premi Nacional de Literatura 2007 and the Premi de la Crítica Serra d'Or de Contes i Narracions 2007.
For readers of short fiction and contemporary Catalan literature, interested in stories that combine landscape, memory and realism.
