«La fille du samouraï» is the illustrated book by Fred Bernard and illustrated by François Roca, published by L'Ecole des loisirs in hardback (42 pages).
In a theatre, at the end of the 19th century, Tomé tells how he arrived on an island in Japan after being shipwrecked in Asia. A blind old samurai takes him in, teaches him his combat technique and introduces him to his daughter, for whom Tomé feels deep affection. The peace of his days of training, fishing and walks is broken when the fearsome Demon Warriors appear.

Recommended for child and young adult readers and for those who enjoy adventure stories set in legendary Japan.
