«La Discorde: Israël-Palestine, les Juifs, la France» is the essay by Rony Brauman and Alain Finkielkraut, in paperback (Mille et une nuits, 2006).
The book recreates the intellectual civil war opened in France by the second Intifada: the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and antisemitism divide public debate. Rony Brauman and Alain Finkielkraut, figures of opposing stances, converse between 2003 and 2006 with Élisabeth Lévy; the confrontation becomes a dialogue without ending the discord.
Paperback edition of 378 pages, in French. The conversations took place between September 2003 and August 2006.
Aimed at readers interested in political essays, French intellectual debate, the Middle East conflict and antisemitism.
Alain Luc Finkielkraut is a French essayist, radio producer, and public intellectual. Since 1986, he has been the host of Répliques, a talk show broadcast weekly on France Culture. He was elected a Fellow of the Académie Française in 2014.
