«La dama culta» is the historical mystery novel by Manuel Jesús Soriano Pinzón, published by Abecedario in 2011 in paperback (275 pages, in Spanish).
The story takes place in Huelva during the Spanish Civil War: at dawn in 1936, war snatches from the protagonist what she loves most, her husband, sent to fight. The plot combines mystery, intrigue, love and betrayal, and turns the love of books and memory into guiding threads of a narrative marked by nostalgia and separation.
The work belongs to the Nuevas Historias collection from Abecedario.
Recommended for readers of historical fiction and mystery novels set in twentieth-century Spain.
