Anaïs Nion, a 39-year-old editorial proofreader, has terrible luck: her name almost matches that of a great writer, she has received 112 rejections for her five novels, and she endures a dull marriage. What's more, she is harassed by a vulgar bestselling author and discovers a half-sister for whom everything goes right.
Paperback edition published on 15 February 2000; the work was originally written in French.
