«La conquista erótica de las Indias» is the historical essay by Ricardo Herren, published by Planeta in paperback (268 pages, in Spanish).
Drawing on European and indigenous chronicles, Herren documents the intense sexual activity of the Spanish conquistadors in the Americas and how that miscegenation changed the continent's ethnic composition, today predominantly mestizo. It includes contemporary examples, from Mexico to Paraguay.
Published in 1991, it is part of the Memoria de la Historia collection (no. 53) and includes bibliographic references and an index.
For those interested in the colonial history of the Americas and in the study of miscegenation and sexuality as social phenomena.
