«La chica sobre la nevera y otros relatos» is the short story collection by Etgar Keret, published by Siruela in paperback (188 pages, in Spanish).
Very short stories portraying Israeli life and a society trying to escape the absurdity of armed conflicts. With black humour and irony, Keret moves between the everyday and the fantastic: violence, human weakness, dreamers who still believe they can change the world. Colloquial language, with echoes of pastiche and the music video.
Volume 89 of the Nuevos Tiempos collection. Translated from the Hebrew by Ana María Bejarano. First edition, published in 2006.
For readers of contemporary short fiction and narrative that combines humour and social perspective.
