«La Brigade du rire» is Gérard Mordillat's tragicomic novel, published by Albin Michel in paperback (528 pages, in French).
A group of people on the fringes of the labour system kidnap the editorialist Pierre Ramut and lock him in a bunker so he can personally suffer the conditions he defends in his articles: a 48-hour week, a salary 20% below the minimum, and maximum productivity. Drivers, the unemployed, teachers and dreamers unite in this farce to take revenge on a society that imposes success as the only authority.
A suitable read for those who enjoy novels critical of the world of work, with corrosive humour and marginalised characters who refuse to submit.
