«La bofetada» is the contemporary fiction novel by Christos Tsiolkas, published by RBA in paperback (544 pages, in Spanish).
At a barbecue in a residential suburb, an adult slaps a child who is not his own. The incident triggers a domino effect on friends and family. Told from eight points of view, the novel shows how that act shakes the lives and certainties of the characters, exposing the tensions of modern family life and the contemporary middle class.
Fourth novel by Christos Tsiolkas and the first translated into Spanish, with translation by Ana Herrera Ferrer; winner of the Commonwealth Writers Prize 2009.
For readers of contemporary fiction interested in a choral drama about family life and personal relationships.
