«Juan Pablo II, ese desconocido» is the biography by Miguel Ángel Velasco, published by Editorial Planeta in paperback (208 pages, in Spanish).
The book portrays Pope John Paul II from his most human and everyday side, far from the solemn pontiff and world leader. The author, a Mallorcan poet, gathers anecdotes and observations about the man who prays, shaves, sings, suffers and ages, to show the Christian faith and hope of a historical figure of the 20th century.
First published in 1998 in the Planeta Testimonio collection; this 2014 edition has 208 pages in paperback.
