«James' Tierleben» is the audiobook by James Krüss with poems and stories about animals, published by Hörbuch Hamburg HHV GmbH on CD, in German.
The work brings together in rhyme tales and verses about real animals and fantastical creatures, such as the phoenix that always remains a child or the billy goat that trusts in logic. The tone combines humour, irony and absurd antics.
The sound recording consists of 1 CD, was published in 2016 and is narrated by Eva Mattes, Walter Kreye and Gustav Peter Wöhler.
Aimed at children and adults alike, it is an option for listening as a family and for those who appreciate German lyric poetry.
James Krüss was a German writer of children's and picture books, illustrator, poet, radio play author, scriptwriter, translator, and collector of children's poems and folk songs. For his contribution as a children's writer he received the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1968.
