«In alter Frische» is the comic novel by Pelham G. Wodehouse, published by Suhrkamp Verlag in hardback (274 pages, in German).
An American millionaire and collector of Egyptian scarabs arrives at Blandings Castle, the English estate of Lord Emsworth, seeking rest. He wants to marry his daughter to the lord's son, but the young people already have other loves. When the most valuable piece of his collection disappears, the stay becomes a comedy of errors.
The novel opens the Blandings Castle series; it is the German translation of «Something Fresh», a work originally published in 1915 and translated by Thomas Schlachter.
It will appeal to readers of classic British humour and early 20th-century farces.
