«Impossible» is the contemporary fiction novel by Erri De Luca, published by Edicions Bromera in paperback (136 pages, in Catalan).
An old man walking alone in the mountains notices someone following him and lets him pass to regain his solitude. Hours later he discovers that the man has died in an accident and, when he alerts the emergency services, he is accused of homicide: the deceased was a former comrade from his revolutionary struggle who betrayed him decades earlier. The novel plays with coincidence and with how the impossible can become real.
The novel was published in November 2020 as number 312 of the L'Eclèctica collection, translated from Italian into Catalan by Albert Pejó Orellana.
The work is aimed at readers aged 16 and over, with an interest in contemporary fiction and in the narrative of Erri De Luca.

Enrico "Erri" De Luca is an Italian novelist, translator and poet. He has been recognized by critic Giorgio De Rienzo of Corriere della Sera as "the writer of the decade". He is also known for his opposition to the Lyon-Turin high speed train line, and is being sued for having called for its sabotage. On 19 October 2015, De Luca was cleared of inciting criminal damage. He reacted to the not-guilty verdict declaring that "An injustice has been avoided."
