«I, Robot» is the science fiction short story collection by Isaac Asimov, published by Bantam Books in paperback (304 pages, in English).
Interconnected stories trace the evolution of robots to intelligences that may control the world. Their cases test the Three Laws of Robotics: out-of-control robots, telepathic robots, political robots, and robots with a sense of humour appear. In the background remains the question of what is human.
It belongs to Asimov's Robot series; the original work appeared in 1950. The cover of this edition alludes to the film starring Will Smith.
A science fiction classic for those who want to learn about the origin of robots and the Three Laws of Robotics.

Isaac Asimov was an American writer and professor of biochemistry at Boston University. During his lifetime, Asimov was considered one of the "Big Three" science fiction writers, along with Robert A. Heinlein and Arthur C. Clarke. He wrote or edited more than 500 books and an estimated 90,000 letters and postcards. Best known for his hard science fiction, Asimov also wrote mysteries and fantasy, as well as popular science and other non-fiction. His work spans nine out of the ten categories of the Dewey decimal system.
