«Hot Line» is the suspense novel by Luis Sepúlveda, published by Punto de Lectura in paperback (96 pages, in Spanish).
George Washington Caucamán, a fast-trigger detective of Mapuche origin, is posted to Santiago de Chile and assigned to the sexual crimes unit. He investigates anonymous calls to an erotic line: the woman who answers them is an exile recently returned to the country, and the threats seem linked to the repression of the dictatorship.
The novel was originally published in 1998; this edition dates from 2003.
For readers of thriller and suspense interested in Latin American narrative and stories with a political backdrop.
