«Hors-saison et autres nouvelles» is a collection of ten stories by Françoise Bourdin, published by Pocket in paperback (168 pages, in French).
The title story interweaves two lives: Sabine, who arrives in Honfleur to reflect on her strained relationship, and Jag, who recognises the house where he takes refuge because his great love lived there. The other nine stories capture intimate moments of ordinary people on whom the past weighs, with a tone combining humour and melancholy.
For readers of French fiction and short stories; the work is in French, so it requires some fluency in the language.
