«Homo faber: Ein Bericht» is the novel by Max Frisch, published by Suhrkamp Verlag in paperback (202 pages, in German).
The novel follows Walter Faber, an engineer who fully trusts his rational and technical view of the world. A series of events, including an unexpected romantic encounter, puts his convictions in crisis. Frisch thus contrasts technology and fate, and raises the limits of human control over one's own life.
