«Happiness TM» is the satirical novel by Will Ferguson published by Emecé in paperback (406 pages, in Spanish).
Edwin de Valu, a cynical editor at a publishing house, receives a self-help manuscript that actually works: those who read it become happy and kind to a disturbing degree. What seems like an editorial joke triggers a global phenomenon that threatens civilisation and forces Edwin to pursue the mysterious guru responsible.
The novel originally appeared in 2001 as «Generica» and in 2002 won the Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal and the Canadian Authors Association award.
For those seeking a satirical comedy with criticism of the publishing world and self-help culture.
William Stener Ferguson is a Canadian travel writer and novelist who won the Scotiabank Giller Prize for his novel 419 (2012).
