«Halte aux livres !» is a children's book by Brigitte Smadja, published by L'École des loisirs in paperback (94 pages, in French).
A young protagonist goes through various adventures in a story where books and reading are at the centre. With humour and a critical look at the world of books, the narrative shows a child's everyday relationship with reading, in a tone close to the French children's story.
Originally published in April 1995 in the Animax collection by L'École des loisirs. The edition includes black-and-white illustrations by Serge Bloch.
Aimed at young readers who are starting to handle more structured narratives and enjoy humorous stories about books.
Brigitte Smadja was a Tunisian-born French author.
