Hacia el trono de los dioses

Synopsis of Hacia el trono de los dioses

«Hacia el trono de los dioses» is Herbert Tichy's travel account, published by Revista ALTAIR S.L. in paperback (280 pages, in Spanish).

Tichy, a Viennese geologist, recounts his journey in the late 1930s after reading Sven Hedin: by motorcycle through Kashmir and the Hindu Kush, Burma, on foot in the Himalayas, the Gurla Mandatha (7,200 m), and a clandestine entry into Tibet disguised as a pilgrim. A tale full of love for people and landscapes, with humour.

Part of the Heterodoxos collection (no. 22). Translated from German by Francisco Payarols Casas and includes 130 black-and-white photographs by the author and a map.

For readers interested in travel literature, mountains, and the great exploration adventures of the interwar period.
