«Gut gegen Nordwind» is the romantic novel by Daniel Glattauer, published by Goldmann in paperback (222 pages, in German).
A misdirected email turns Emmi Rothner and Leo Leike into anonymous correspondents. Their exchange grows increasingly personal, caught between trust and attraction: Emmi is married and Leo is still recovering from a breakup, so both avoid a real meeting. Can feelings born on a screen survive a face-to-face date?
First novel in a two-part series centred on Emmi and Leo. The work originally appeared in 2006; the Goldmann edition is from 2008.
Aimed at the general public, it is suitable reading for fans of contemporary romance and for German learners at B1 level and above.
