«Gli innamoramenti» is the novel by Spanish writer Javier Marías, published by Einaudi in hardback (306 pages, in Italian).
María Dolz works at a publishing house in Madrid and every morning observes a couple in a café who seem perfect. When Miguel is killed in an apparently random attack, María begins a relationship with Javier, the dead man's best friend, and starts to suspect the story was not so simple. A reflection on love, truth, and the deceptive power of language.
