«Flashman and the Dragon» is the historical adventure novel by George MacDonald Fraser, published by HarperCollins in paperback (320 pages, in English).
In 1860, Colonel Flashman, a decorated coward whom everyone takes for a hero, becomes embroiled in the conflicts of China: the Taiping Rebellion, opium, Lord Elgin, an imperial concubine and a colossal bandit woman. The plot blends humour, action and historical recreation as British and French troops advance towards the Forbidden City.
Eighth instalment of the Flashman Papers series. The first British edition was published in 1985; the present one is a Fontana printing of March 1990.
For readers of historical and adventure fiction with humour, and for those who follow the Flashman Papers series.
