«Festes i tradicions de tot l'any» is the children's picture book by Elena Ferro Gay, published by Edicions Baula in hardback (68 pages, in Catalan).
With Sebastià Panarra, the festival elf, as guide, the book covers the year's main celebrations: Castanyada, the Advent calendar, Tió de Nadal, Carnestoltes and Vella Quaresma, the importance of eggs at Easter, and the night of Sant Joan as Nit del Foc. It explains the origins and customs of these traditions.
The cover subtitle presents the book as «el costumari per a totes les edats»; it is the first edition, from 2009, with illustrations by Joan Subirana Queralt.
The detailed illustrations help explain to children what is typical of each season, and the book can be read as a family.
