«Extramuros» is the historical novel by Jesús Fernández Santos, published by Planeta in hardback (251 pages, in Spanish).
In late 16th-century Spain, in an impoverished convent, two nuns live a relationship as intense as it is clandestine, made of faith, affection and desire. The irruption of a secret alters the cloistered routine and exposes tensions of power, repression and mysticism.
Winner of the Premio Nacional de Narrativa in 1979, the work was originally published in 1978; this 1992 edition belongs to the Clásicos Universales collection by Planeta.
For readers of contemporary and historical Spanish narrative interested in psychological drama and convent setting.
