«Éxito» is the novel by Martin Amis published in 1989 by Alfaguara, in paperback (305 pages, in Spanish).
The novel follows two adoptive brothers sharing a flat in London: one is insecure and clumsy; the other, disdainful and vain. Their cohabitation exudes class resentment, romantic rivalry and disillusionment, with an unfaithful girlfriend and an unstable sister as triggers. Amis composes a ferocious revenge comedy, heir to Jacobean theatre.
For readers of contemporary fiction and black humour, with deliberately exaggerated characters.
