«Estiu» is the contemporary novel that closes Ali Smith's seasonal quartet, published by Rayo Verde Editorial in hardback (240 pages, in Catalan).
The action begins in February 2020, when the virus is still a distant threat, and enters the Greenlaw family home to follow intersecting lives. The characters of the seasonal quartet reappear, connected despite their differences. The novel again addresses the climate emergency, migration and polarisation.
Fourth instalment of the seasonal quartet. Translation by Dolors Udina Abelló and epilogue by Carlota Gurt. Winner of the Orwell Prize 2021. Number 40 in the Raigs Globulars collection.
For readers of literary and contemporary fiction seeking a novel in Catalan attentive to social reality and human bonds.
