«Escalad, escalad malditos» is Álvaro Osés Arbizu's book of portraits of climbers, in paperback (Ediciones Desnivel, 208 pages, Spanish).
Álvaro Osés Arbizu portrays climbers who defied conventions: loners in the Himalayas, climbers without ropes, seekers of remote corners and mountain hermits. Among those portrayed are Antonio García Picazo, Jesús Vallés, Kike de Pablo and Paco Aguado, lives that illuminate little-known passages of Spanish mountaineering.
Álvaro Osés Arbizu won the 2003 Desnivel Literature Prize for «El centinela de piedra», and this book was published in April 2006.
For fans of mountains and biographies of climbers who followed their own path.
