«Encerrados con un solo juguete» is the novel by Juan Marsé, published by Lumen in hardback (256 pages, in Spanish).
The work follows a group of middle-class young people whose families were broken by the Civil War. Trapped in a grey environment, they experience listlessness and a confused sexual awakening, without imagination to escape their reality. Moral decay and the death of a woman, a symbol of a fate they hate, reflect the world they had to live in.
It is Juan Marsé's first novel and is part of the Biblioteca Juan Marsé collection published by Lumen.
Recommended for readers of contemporary Spanish fiction and for followers of Juan Marsé interested in the author's first novel.
