Iona thought that being in the United States would be far enough away from her adorable and crazy mother's nonsense, but she was wrong. Having to quit her job and travel immediately to Scotland to avoid an absurd marriage engagement was proof of that. Ending up in the only pub in town having an intimate conversation with a bottle of whiskey wasn't her goal, but it was certainly the beginning of her problems.
