«Els nens» is the children's book by Maria Rius and José María Parramón, published by Parramón in paperback (32 pages, in Catalan).
The book helps young children understand everyday situations, observe nature, and recognize their social environment. The illustrations are the main narrative language, designed so children feel like protagonists at home, at school, and in the city.
It belongs to the «Primera biblioteca dels nens» collection by Parramón. The back cover states «A partir de 4 anys».
Aimed at children aged 4 and up, suitable for school and family settings where reading in Catalan is introduced.
Maria Rius was a Catalan prisoner support activist and anarchist militant. She organised numerous prison escapes during the time of the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera. After the proclamation of the Second Spanish Republic, she stormed a women's prison in Barcelona and agitated for amnesty for political prisoners. She fought on the Aragon front during the Spanish Civil War, before fleeing into exile in France.
