«Elogi de la passió pura» is the novel by Sebastià Serrano published by Planeta in hardback, with 176 pages, in Catalan.
A retired athlete reviews the milestones of his life: a career, a love, and his poetic vocation. The novel explores the balance between mind and body and between the individual and the social, against a Western tradition that has hidden the body in favour of the soul. Sebastià Serrano reflects on authentic communication and the meaning of experience.
The work won the Premi Ramon Llull and was published in 1992.
For readers of Catalan fiction seeking a reflection on body and mind.
