«El Turista Accidental» is the novel by Anne Tyler, published by RBA in hardback in 1993, in Spanish.
Macon Leary writes guides for those who travel out of obligation, the «accidental tourists», and hates the unforeseen events that disrupt his routine. The death of his son and his wife's abandonment plunge him into crisis. Meeting Muriel, a singular dog trainer, forces him to step outside himself and rethink his life.
The novel was originally published in English in 1985 as The Accidental Tourist; this Spanish edition, in the Narrativa Actual collection, appeared in 1993.
For readers of contemporary fiction who enjoy stories of grief, eccentric characters, and second chances.
Milan Kundera was a Czech and French novelist. Kundera went into exile in France in 1975, acquiring citizenship in 1981. His Czechoslovak citizenship was revoked in 1979, but he was granted Czech citizenship in 2019.
