Synopsis of El sendero
El Sendero es una novela del autor egipcio Naguib Mahfuz, ganador del Premio Nobel de Literatura en 1988. La historia se desarrolla en Egipto durante los años sesenta y setenta, y sigue a un hombre que descubre que no es huérfano como pensaba. Su madre le revela en su lecho de muerte que su padre es una persona importante que podría ayudarlo. Tras el entierro, Sabir viaja de Alejandría a El Cairo en busca de su padre, incluso publicando un anuncio en el periódico. La trama se complica cuando comete un asesinato y descubre secretos familiares, como que su madre fue prostituta.
