«El retrato de Dorian Gray» is the only novel by Oscar Wilde published by the Instituto Provincial de Investigaciones y Estudios, in hardback (286 pages).
Young Dorian Gray, of exceptional physical beauty, longs not to age; the wish comes true and, while he retains his youthful appearance, the portrait reflects the corruption of his soul. Wilde thus addresses pleasure, vice, and the relationship between art and life in late nineteenth-century England.
Part of the Club Bruguera collection, number 54. Work originally published in 1890; original title: The Picture of Dorian Gray. Translation by Julio Gómez de la Serna. Text in Spanish.
For readers of literary classics and Victorian gothic fiction.

Oscar Fingal O'Fflahertie Wills Wilde was an Irish author, poet and playwright. After writing in different literary styles throughout the 1880s, he became one of the most popular and influential dramatists in London in the early 1890s. He was a key figure in the emerging Aestheticism movement of the late 19th century and is widely regarded as the greatest playwright of the Victorian era. Wilde is best known for his Gothic novel The Picture of Dorian Gray (1890), his epigrams, plays and bedtime stories for children, as well as his criminal conviction in 1895 for gross indecency and for practicing homosexual acts.
