«El que espera» is Andrés Neuman's short story collection, published by Anagrama in hardback (152 pages, in Spanish).
Stories and miniatures about hope, waiting and despair, populated by misfit characters: a beetle hunter, a hysterical violinist or a taxi driver who gives up the wheel. The volume champions the short story and the micro-story from the tradition of Piñera, Arreola or Monterroso, with a final manifesto-epilogue in defense of the genre.
Published in October 2000 as number 290 of Anagrama's Narrativas hispánicas collection. First edition.
For readers of short fiction and Latin American microfiction, and for those who follow the work of Andrés Neuman.
