«El petit Nicolas» is the children's storybook by René Goscinny and Jean-Jacques Sempé, published by labutxaca in paperback (156 pages).
The book brings together stories featuring Nicolas and his gang at school and in the neighbourhood: misunderstandings, pranks and antics narrated through the protagonist's innocent gaze. Sempé's drawings accompany the stories and reinforce the humorous and endearing tone.
First volume of the El petit Nicolas series. The work was originally published in 1959 as Le petit Nicolas; this edition appeared in 2012.
René Goscinny was a French comic editor and writer, who created the Asterix comic book series with illustrator Albert Uderzo. Born in France to a Jewish family from Poland, he spent his childhood in Argentina where he attended French schools and later lived in the United States for a short period of time. There he met Belgian cartoonist Morris. After his return to France, they collaborated for more than 20 years on the comic series Lucky Luke.
