«El pequeño Nicolás» is a children's classic by René Goscinny and Jean-Jacques Sempé, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardback (139 pages).
Nicolás is a boy who recounts his daily life at school and at home in the first person. With his friends, he experiences absurd situations full of misunderstandings and mischief that end in punishments or funny consequences. The humour and Sempé's illustrations turn each story into an endearing snapshot of childhood.
It is the first title in the «El pequeño Nicolás» series; the original French work, «Le petit Nicolas», appeared in 1959 and the translation is by Esther Benítez.
For child and young readers, and for those who enjoy school stories full of humour.

René Goscinny was a French comic editor and writer, who created the Asterix comic book series with illustrator Albert Uderzo. Born in France to a Jewish family from Poland, he spent his childhood in Argentina where he attended French schools and later lived in the United States for a short period of time. There he met Belgian cartoonist Morris. After his return to France, they collaborated for more than 20 years on the comic series Lucky Luke.
