«El paso tan lento del amor» is the novel by Héctor Bianciotti, published by Editorial Planeta in hardback (251 pages, in Spanish).
The protagonist, a twenty-five-year-old young man, leaves Buenos Aires in 1955 convinced he will never return. Penniless, his journey takes him from Naples to Rome, where absolute misery teaches him that before standing on one's feet, one must know how to fall.
Work originally published in French as «Le Pas si lent de l'amour» in 1995. It belongs to the Clásicos Contemporáneos Internacionales collection.
For readers of intimate fiction and stories about emigration, with autobiographical echoes of the author.
Hector Bianciotti was an Argentine-born French author and member of the Académie Française.
