«El pájaro pintado» is the novel by Jerzy Kosinski, published by Argos Vergara in paperback (265 pages, in Spanish).
A boy travels through Eastern Europe during the Second World War and faces the violence and horror of the conflict. The novel describes his struggle to survive and shows how war corrupts, destroys childhood and reveals the human capacity for cruelty.

A hard read, aimed at those who prefer war fiction without complacency and do not shy away from disturbing scenes.
Jerzy Kosiński was a Polish-born American writer and two-time president of the American chapter of PEN, who wrote primarily in English.
