«El otro fuego» is the short story collection by Inés Mendoza, published by Páginas de Espuma in paperback (112 pages, in Spanish).
Fire is the common thread of these stories: the search, pain, desire and transformation. Their characters push the limits of the possible in unsettling atmospheres and lyrical prose, with echoes of Romanticism and Latin American magic; the whole moves through the nocturnal, rebellion, nostalgia and the glow of the imaginary.
It is volume 138 of the Voces / Literatura collection. This is the first edition, published in 2010.
For readers of short fiction and contemporary Venezuelan literature interested in current Hispano-American narrative.
