«El hombre que no fui» is the novel by Javier Menéndez Flores and Melchor Miralles about the Urquijo case, published by La Esfera in paperback, with 360 pages.
The 1980 murder of the Marquises of Urquijo generated hypotheses of revenge, financial motive or hitman. The novel links that crime with a story of love and survival: a sentence separates two friends, one flees after years in prison and the other is found dead in his cell. Decades of speculation are reviewed to clarify the case.
Novel published on 19 September 2017 in the Ficción collection by La Esfera, in Spanish.
For readers of true crime and novels inspired by real events in recent Spain.
