«El hombre del velocípedo» is the novel by Uwe Timm and Eduardo Knörr Argote, published by Amaranto Ediciones in paperback (217 pages, in Spanish).
Taxidermist Franz Schróter travels by velocipede through late-19th-century Coburg and unleashes the clash between supporters of the velocipede and followers of the low bicycle. With humour, irony and melancholy, the novel shows how technical progress divides parties, religious communities and families in an age of faith in advancement.
