«El año de la inmortalidad» is the novel by Ángeles de Irisarri, published by Mira Editores in paperback (130 pages, in Spanish).
The premise is unusual: for an entire year, death disappears in Madrid and all its inhabitants become immortal. From there, the author combines absurd situations and constant irony to explore the boundary between the real and the imagined, in a tale that mixes humour and unease.
The book is number 20 in the Narrativa Mira collection and corresponds to the first edition, published in 1993.
