Commissioner Bernal, immersed in an unsatisfactory marital relationship, longs for the summer holidays with his lover Consuelo. However, before leaving Madrid, the director of State Security summons him to an urgent meeting: ETA terrorists threaten a bombing campaign on the Spanish coast. Bernal is sent to Torremolinos, where foreign tourists have disappeared and a police officer has been murdered. The key to this absorbing novel will delight readers with the intricacies of the case.
