«El aire de un crimen» is the crime novel by Juan Benet, published in 1980 by Planeta in hardback (250 pages, in Spanish).
In Región, a recurring setting in Benet's work, the escape of two recruits and the appearance of a stranger's corpse break the calm of the place. The investigation that gets underway destabilises the community's routine and brings to the surface tensions that the habitual silence of its people had kept hidden.
Finalist for the Planeta Prize in 1980. The edition belongs to Planeta's Autores españoles e hispanoamericanos collection.
Fans of crime fiction and twentieth-century Spanish narrative will find a representative work by Juan Benet.
