«Dolce per sé» is the epistolary novel by Dacia Maraini, published by Rizzoli in paperback (185 pages, in Italian).
Vera, a fifty-year-old playwright, writes letters to Flavia, the young niece of Edoardo, a violinist and former love. Over seven years, between 1988 and 1995, she unfolds the relationship in them: concerts, travels, wordplay and domestic legends, while echoes of her own childhood surface.
The work received the Brancati Prize in 1997 and this 1999 edition belongs to the BUR Superbur collection (number 287).
It will appeal to readers of contemporary Italian fiction and to those who enjoy epistolary stories about memory and love.
