«Dióxenes en Dolorida» is the novel by Ignacio Vidal Portabales published by Edicións Xerais in 2013 in paperback (296 pages).
The novel that won the 2012 Blanco Amor Prize tells of the arrival of a singular, misogynistic and excessive character in Dolorida, a coastal city, after a romantic breakup. Fleeing the memory of Marta, the protagonist meets three men going through hard times who decide to follow him unconditionally. They all frequent Praceres, an establishment that arouses particular interest among the women of Dolorida. Written in an agile, direct style with humour, it offers a light-hearted look at couple relationships.
Winner of the XXX Blanco Amor Novel Prize 2012. First edition, published in Galician in September 2013.
Aimed at readers of contemporary Galician fiction, particularly those looking for prize-winning novels with a humorous tone and an atmosphere between the real and the parodic.
